Our annual Severe Weather Workshop and Lecture Tour (Tour 6), hosted by world-renowned tornado scientist Dr. Charles Doswell, is the perfect choice for guests wanting to expand their knowledge of supercell thunderstorms and tornadoes. The information presented during the tour will be tailored for the specific needs of each guest, whether novice or expert. Dr. Doswell will share his insight into tornado forecasting, storm chase logistics, and other anecdotes.
The Lecture Tour will allow guests the rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the leaders in the field of tornado and supercell meteorology.

Denver is both the gateway to the Rocky Mountains and to the Great Plains. It is located near the nation's epicenter of tornado activity for late June and early July. Denver provides guests with many sightseeing and outdoor activities. Be sure to visit the National Center for Atmospheric Research in nearby Boulder. Allow extra time to see Denver prior to and after your tour!

The Meteorology of Tour #6
Our late-June tour is scheduled during the most active period for tornadoes on the Northern and High Plains of Tornado Alley. Typical chase territory includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Minnesota and Iowa.
On June 24, 2003, Dr. Doswell and our team intercepted 14 tornadoes in South Dakota!
